Whitechapel Road

This compact residential refurbishment transformed an awkward mezzanine flat into a vibrant and highly functional home tailored to its owners' lifestyle.

The existing mezzanine level did not comply with current standards and limited the usability of the apartment. By reconfiguring the layout and relocating the staircase, we were able to create a generous new bathroom, a separate guest WC, and a fully equipped kitchen, significantly improving the functionality of the space.

The interior embraces a playful and colourful design language, combining bold accents, arched openings and carefully curated details to create a home full of character. Particular attention was given to the owners' cat, with bespoke features integrated throughout the design to support both human and feline occupation.

At the upper level, a large roof window floods the apartment with natural light and frames a bespoke raised bed platform, creating a calm retreat above the lively living spaces below.

The result is a joyful and imaginative home that maximises every square metre while reflecting the personality of its occupants.
