The owners were looking to transform a Victorian house into a home that reflected their contemporary lifestyle while preserving the character and charm that had attracted them to the property in the first place.

Having previously lived in an industrial warehouse conversion, they were keen to carry forward some of the qualities they had enjoyed in their former home. The challenge was to reinterpret those industrial influences within a more traditional Victorian setting.

Many of their existing furniture pieces were retained and became key drivers of the design. In particular, the owners had a set of metal bookshelves that they loved. Inspired by these, we designed a bespoke shelving system that captured the spirit of their previous home while sitting comfortably alongside the period features of the house.

Throughout the project, careful attention was paid to balancing old and new. Warm timber finishes and subtle touches of colour were introduced to complement the original architectural details, creating a home that feels both contemporary and welcoming.

The result is a thoughtful renovation that blends industrial influences with Victorian character, reflecting the owners' history while embracing a new chapter in their lives.
