Coleherne

This refurbishment of a one-bedroom flat focused on enhancing the flow of the home while celebrating its original period character.

The key intervention involved opening up the kitchen and living room to create a bright, open-plan living space better suited to modern living. As the wall between the two rooms was load-bearing, the project required structural alterations to carefully achieve the desired layout while preserving the integrity of the building.

Throughout the flat, existing period features were retained and enhanced. A new herringbone timber floor with a traditional border detail was introduced, complementing the original cornicing and reinforcing the property's historic character.

The bathroom was lightly reconfigured to improve functionality, while the bedroom was refreshed through a new colour palette and decorative upgrades.

The result is a calm and elegant home that balances contemporary living with the charm and craftsmanship of its Victorian heritage.
